Bump Update #2

A few notes and thoughts on pregnancy:

+ On Christmas day I met the halfway mark of my pregnancy, 20 weeks
+ Tomorrow I'll be 24 weeks preggers, which means there are 16 weeks left until I'm full term
+ 16 weeks = 4 months = ohmygoshisthatright?!? a baby is for real on the way!!!!
+ Baby Girl is on the move!  It's so amazing feeling her little baby flutter kicks and jabs
+ haven't had any super weird cravings - I eat scrambled eggs and oatmeal probably every morning and PB&J sandwiches at least three times a week, if not more
+ aches...in my upper back, mostly when I'm trying to sleep.  I broke down and bought one of those pregnant person body pillows.  Eh, it's okay.  Certainly not a miracle worker or anything
+ bending over is getting a bit difficult
+ I've started exercising again (after getting the go ahead from my doctor) slowly, but surely.  It actually feels really good.  I've found some prenatal Pilate's videos on youtube and it's just crazy how the 10 minute sessions with 5 pound weights feels like a major workout, ha!
+ I enlisted the help of my two BFF's and my sister in law to help me register.  Ugh!  BabiesRUs makes me want to claw my eyes out.  WHAT IS ALL THAT STUFF????
+ watched a video on breast feeding... I just never knew.  Blisters?  Deep latch?  Babies sure can open those little mouths wide.  Breast pumps?  I'm overwhelmed you guys.  So.Much.Information.
+ Overall?  Still feeling great!  I want to declutter our house from top to bottom.  I've been told this is what's called nesting.  Best get after it.

  1. Where in the WORLD will you fit that growing baby, Melissa? You are so tiny! Glad to hear you are doing so well and getting good support from family and friends. Don't know what to tell you about all the education that comes with having a baby, but going back to blissfully ignorant about this stuff is not an option. You are a trooper! I pray for continued health and vitality for you and baby girl (and hubster too). Be blessed!

  6. You're so stinkin' cute. Wish I had looked that cute pregnant. Ha! If you ever want any help, you know I'm here. I know you have lots of help there, so I will keep unsolicited advice to a minimum - but if you ever want to chat about it I would love it! I have Babies R Us mastered for the most part (which doesn't mean that it doesn't still make me want to claw my eyes out sometimes.) And the breastfeeding stuff, too. Love you! Can't wait to check out your registry!

  7. You look so cute! I remember the whole sleeping thing as being the most annoying part of pregnancy, for me. I sleepy with like five pillows wedged under my belly, and it helped!

    1. Thanks Hollie... and yes the whole being unable to sleep really well is probably the most annoying thing about being pregnant for me too. That and the hormones that make me an overly sensitive maniac. I kid! (Not really... :-/)

  8. Okay, you are a really cute pregnant lady, Melissa.

I agree it's overwhelming to register. As a first timer I had NO idea what I actually needed and NO idea what features to look for in baby products.

You are smart to register and have mom friends check it out for you and give you some pointers.
