Our Christmas Card (2012)

I'm 100%, all about, the personalized Christmas cards. I love sending them out and I love receiving them. This year I managed to get ours made up and postmarked by the first week of December. The first week of December you guys! That has to be a first, a real Christmas miracle for a procrastinator like myself.

This year I asked Matt if he wanted to hire a professional photographer or if he wanted me to try and snap a photo of ourselves using my camera remote timer and a tripod. He opted for the more affordable option. Are we surprised? No. ;) Although, one day, we will have some professional photos made. Besides our wedding photos, we don't really have any professional family photos and I want some!! More so now that we have a Baby Girl on the way :)

I made these up using Photoshop Elements and had them printed at Mpix. This was my first time using Mpix for printing and I was really pleased with the product quality and service. I'll definitely be using them again. Here are the photos I used, sans text:

Matt’s expression in this one!  I love it! May have to print it out for a frame because he's the cutest.

And just for fun, here’s our card from last year:

It’s fun to see how much has changed over the span of a year. From newly weds in 2011 to approaching our two year anniversary with a baby on the way in 2012.  Life is blessed.

Did you send out a personal Christmas card this year? If so, I'd love for you to share. If you've shared it on your blog please leave the link in the comments below! Hope you are all enjoying this holiday season...it's one of my favorite times of year.

  2. They turned out wonderful! We used a tripod (actually no, I hung my camera from a tree) last year, added some fun text, and sent them on their way. Way to go for making it work! Though I'm with you, one day, I want professional photos :)

  7. I love your Christmas card!! You look way too pretty, though. :)

Yes, mpix is great. We ordered our cards from there, too. And I always recommend them to my clients who are looking for quality prints without the high price some of the pro labs charge.
