This past weekend was the first weekend in a really long time that we've had absolutely no plans, nothing penciled in on the calendar. It was amazing. I even got a bit bored and stir crazy after holing up in my house all day on Saturday.
Here's what we've been up to tied up in one nifty little list:
Sept 13-16 Gulf Shores, Alabama for a mini vacation with Matt's family
Sept 20-23 Laguna Beach, California for a wedding
Oct 5-7 We squeezed in a weekend at my parent's house (they live 2 hours away from us)
Oct 12-14 Dallas for the OU/TX game
Oct 15 My birthday! Out to dinner and I got a super awesome sewing machine!
Oct 18-19 Louis CK comedy show in Tulsa
Oct 20 went to the OU vs Kansas home football game
Oct 25-28 Busy, busy weekend! Our friends, Adam & Marie, flew in from Denver to spend a long weekend at our house. In that one weekend we went out to dinner, went to Matt's work's annual Halloween party, and then spent the entire Saturday out and about for the OU/Notre Dame game.

In seven weeks we went out of town five times and had one weekend of hosting out of town guests at our house. Feels like we've been going non-stop!!! Don't get me wrong, we've had an absolute blast these past couple months and I'm grateful for all the wonderful things we've done! Having said that, I sure am glad to have this lull in plans before the holidays start!
The list of every day things that need to be done is looong!
How've you all been? I've missed this space and all of you. I have, however, been keeping up with your blogs - just not my own.

Lulls are pretty much my favorite moments now. Never thought I would say that! But life is just busy these days.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice little break :)
I'm so jealous you got to see Louis CK. I just love him. Life for me is the same; busy & emotionally overwhelming, but I'm surviving. :]
ReplyDeleteYou got the sewing machine this year - nice!! :) I can't wait to see how you put it to work!

Um, schedule like that, I don't blame you for wanting to hole up in your house for a weekend with nothing on the agenda! Do you have travel plans for later this year or does this past weekend set the tone for the holidays?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Have you made anything with your sewing machine, yet? :)
Erik is the BIGGEST Louis CK fan. Was he good live? We've both been wanting to see him live for awhile! Life is crazy around here, but finally starting to settle down. I'm sure when Thanksgiving arrives it'll be crazy again for awhile! : )
